Standard ball valves are not designed for hydraulic and instrumentation pressures. A high pressure ball valve is machined from solid stainless steel bar or forged steel, with heavy wall sections, reinforced seats and a blow-out-proof stem, to hold pressures that would deform an ordinary valve.
We manufacture high-pressure screwed-end bar-stock ball valves rated up to 6000 PSI, and forged ball valves up to ASME Class 2500.
Seat selection for high pressure
Virgin PTFE creeps under high load. For high-pressure service, reinforced seats such as RPTFE or PEEK are used to hold their shape and keep sealing. The final rating of the valve is the lower of the body rating and the seat rating at your operating temperature.
Typical uses
- Hydraulic power packs and test benches.
- Instrumentation, sampling and gauge isolation.
- High-pressure gas and chemical injection lines.
- Oil sampling and testing units.

Frequently asked questions
What pressure can your high pressure ball valves handle?
SS bar-stock screwed ball valves are rated up to 6000 PSI (414 bar); forged designs are available up to ASME Class 2500. Actual rating depends on size, seat and temperature.
Which seat is best for high pressure?
Reinforced PTFE (RPTFE) or PEEK, which resist deformation better than virgin PTFE.
Do you provide test certificates?
Valves are pressure tested before dispatch. Please list the test certificates your project needs in your enquiry so we can confirm the documentation.
