A two piece ball valve has a main body and a screwed-in or bolted end piece that holds the ball and seats in place. With only one body joint, it offers a strong, compact construction with fewer potential leak paths than a three-piece valve – at a lower cost.
As a two piece ball valve supplier in India, we offer 2-PC valves in stainless and carbon steel, with screwed or flanged ends, in full bore or reduced bore, and with lever, gear or actuator operation.
How a two piece ball valve is built
The ball, seats and stem are assembled through the open end of the body; the end connector is then screwed or bolted in, compressing the seats against the ball. The stem passes through the top of the body with gland packing and is fitted with a lever or an ISO mounting pad for actuators.
Two piece vs three piece
Choose a two-piece valve when the valve can be removed from the line for servicing, and cost and compactness matter. Choose a three-piece ball valve when the valve is welded in and you need to service seats without cutting the pipe. Our 2-piece vs 3-piece guide covers this in detail.
